Romania won Gold after 6 years again...

The women's team of Romania was the sovereign best also after the last subdivision of the day: Started in the early first group the score of 112,772 points was absolutly top also after the last group:
In a dramatically fight lost the former titleholder Russia with a lot of mistakes also the silver medal to Ukraine (111, 247) and won Bronze with a score of 110,423, followed by Spain, Great Britain, Italy, France anfd host Netherlands...

Olympic champ Deferr stripped of medals for doping

MOUTIER (Switzerland): -- A top sports court confirmed a decision to strip Spain’s Olympic vault champion Gervasio Deferr of all titles won in the three months period after a drug test revealed traces of cannabis, the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) said on Sunday.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport in Moutier, Switzerland, on Wednesday confirmed a three month suspension given to Deferr by the FIG last year......

Dual Meet Germany - Netherlands

The Dutch national team won the dual meet against host Germany in Cologne with a score of 109,025 to 108,550. Suzanne Harmes was the best gymnast in all-around with 36,750 points.
Also the Dutch junior team won against the host with a score of 102,975 : 102,300 points.
Three Dutch gymnasts - Rene? de Witt (34,375), Danila Koster (33,800) and Sanne Wevers (33,775) were on top...

German Junior Hambuechen - most successful athlet!

The 16 years old German Fabian Hambuechen from Niedergirmes was the most successful gymnast of the European Junior Championships in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
After winning bronze in yesterday's all-around final Hambuechen won gold at floor, vault and high bar today.
Britisch Lois Smith is the new European Champion on pommel horse, and the Russians got gold at rings by Timofei Lazarev and parallel bars by Evgeni Vasiliev....

Four golds for Dragulescu

After leading his team to victory and taking the all-around crown, Romania's Marian Dragulescu won two more gold medals today - on floor and vault- making him the most successful gymnast of the championships. With Ioan Suciu's gold on pommel horse, the Romanian team is also the most successful team of the senior competition.
Other European champions crowned in the Tivoli Hall in Ljubljana today were Dimosthenis Tampakos (GRE) and Alexander Safoshkin (RUS) on rings, Roman Zozulia (UKR) on parallel bars and Aljaz Pegan gave the hosts something to cheer about when he shared the high bar title with Vlassios Maras (GRE).

HONOLULU - Allyse Ishino (USA) proved consistency is the key in winning the Senior Women's all-around gold medal on Friday at the 2004 Pacific Alliance Gymnastics Championships in Honolulu, Hawai`i.

Paul Hamm (USA/57.265) wins in front of Bo Lu (CHN) and David Kikuchi (CAN)....

Catalina Ponor and Marian Dragulescu were the dominating gymnasts of the 'ROMANIAN INTERNATIONALS', held in Ploiesti this past weekend: They won every the most titles and Romania was the most successful nation:

25th European Champs of Women Artistic GymnasticsFirst Gold for Russia!

The Team of Russia won the first title of the 25th European Championships in Amsterdam in Juniors team competion with a total score of 107,556 points.
The silver medal went in the last minute to the Romanian team (106,384) and the Bronze medal was won by the junior team of Italy (105,972), followed by Great Britain, France and host Netherlands...

Germany won the Dual Meets

Germany won Dress Rehersal for Euro Champs
The German men's team won the dual meet in the 'Anhalt Arena' of Dessau (Saxonia Anhalt) with a score of 168,675 : 159,400 points against the team from the Czech Republic.
Best in all-around was Robert Juckel (Cottbus) with a score of 55,600 points, followed by Sven Kwiatkowski (Chemnitz; 55,350). Best Czech gymnast was Martin Konecny (53,250) on fouth.
>>The German junior team won it's meet with an absolutly clear difference of nearly 20 points (162,800 : 142,950) and are surely one of the favourites of the European Junior Championships next week in Ljubljana (SLO).

Britsh Team Championships 2004

The City of Liverpool “A” team (Beth Tweddle, Carol Galashan, Melanie Roberts, Kim Lyon, Aisling Williams and Hannah Clowes coached by Sarah Attwell and Claire Duffy), won the British Team title for the third consecutive time at the Championships in Guildford on 3/4th April (137.650 points), ahead of South Durham (132.175) who celebrated their first Team Silver medal, and the last years runners-up from Heathrow “A” team in third (130.950)....
