The 20th 'DTB-Pokal' tournament is the host for this last event of the World Cup Series in artistic gymnastics (women and men) and rhythmic gymnastics.
Marius Urzica was the winner on pommel horse. On parallel bars won LI, Xiaopeng.
After 1994 the Slovanian Aljaz Pegan won again on high bar to the second time in Stuttgart.
On vault won Olympic champion Elena Zamolodchikova successively to the fouth time in Stuttgart, together with Oksana Chusovitina , best on beam was the Chinese SUN, Xiaojiao.

19th Arthur Gander Memorial

Floarea Leonida (ROM) and Jordan Jovtchev (BUL) won the all-around competitions of 19th Arthur Gander Memorial in Chiasso (SUI).
2nd places got Oksana Chusovitina (UZB) and Huang XU (CHN), 3rd were Monica Rosu (ROM) and Igor Cassina (ITA).
Many of the participants of Gander Memorial will take part in the Swiss Cup this weekend in Zurich.

Top Stars at Swiss Cup

A lot of top stars of international artistic gymnastics will come to the traditional 'SWISS CUP', which will held coming Sunday in Zurch, Switzerland.
The number 1 of GYMmedia World Ranking list Ivan Ivankov will participating, also Vice-world champion on rings Jordan Jovtchev and Olympic team champion HUANG, Xu with his partner SUN, Xiaojiao, the world cup winner on beam in Stuttgart last Sunday.
This traditional pair competition in Zurich is a special highlight at the end of a great year 2002.

Australia/Romania won SWISS CUP

The international pair Monica ROSU from Romania and Philippe RIZZO from Australia was the winner of the INTERNATIONAL SWISS CUP, which was held in Zurich, Switzerland.
On second place came the Bulgarian pair with the world champion on rings Jordan Jovtchev and Evgenia Kusnetzova. Third was the Romanians Leonida Florida and European all-around Champion Dan Potra. The favourites from China Sun, Xiaojiao (- with a mistake on bars...) and Huang, Xu scored on fourth place.

2002 Chunichi Cup

Romania's Oana Petrovschi, the silver medalist on uneven bars at the recent Worlds in Debrecen won the all-around of the 2002 Chunichi Cup held Saturday in Nagoya, Japan and was also the best on uneven bars.
Japan's National champion Hiroyuki Tomita was the best in men's category and also the winner on still rings. The 1999 and 2000 Chunichi cup champion Naoya Tsukahara came on second (aa) but won on hig bar.

German Olympic Champion died

The German Gymnastics Federation DTB informed, that the Olympic champion of 1936, the member of the golden German women's team, Mrs. Julie Schmitt-Knabel died on Tuesday, December, the 10th at the age of 89 years.

Talents of 4 Countries will meet in Potsdam

At last the European talents of artistic gymnastics met in Vienna at the UWW CUP and in September at the INTERNATIONAL GWG CUP in Cottbus.
Some of them will meet again coming Saturday to a friendly meet in Potsdam, near Berlin:
The teams (U 16) of France, Great Britain, Switzerland and Germany .
It is a competition more between this four countries in a long tradition, to come together every year.

Switzerland wins in Potsdam

Winner of the friendly meet between the U16 teams of four European nations was the team of the vice European champion Switzerland (250,65). Host Germany came on second place (246,70), the French team scored on third (243,95) and the team of Great Britain came on fourth (239,6).
Best in all-around were Dennis Mannhardt (51,05) and Roland Haeuptli (50,90) from Switzerland. Third was Yann Rayepin (FRA/50,45). The best British gymnast Adam Cox came on fourth place (49,80).
A special competition report wrote the German Olympic champion on rings, (1988) Holger Behrendt.

Gatson wins Ljukin Invitational

The '7thValery Ljukin Invitational' was won by Jason Gatson (USA/55,35) last weekend at the World Olympic Gymnastics Academy in Plano, near Dallas (Texas).
On second place came Yernar Yerimbetov from Kazachstan (54,125), third was Denis Zbitskiys (LAT/54,050), also winner on pommel horse. The Austrian Thomas Zimmerman came on second place on this apparatus.
The competition is named in honor of legendary World and Olympic champion Valery Ljukin, who was the first gymnast with a triple sault on floor in 1987.
