First Gym Wheel Artists got their Diploma

At the Grand French circus-school „Centre Nationale des Arts du Cirque“ (CNAC) in Châlons-en-Champagne Tom Neal and Thomas Reudet got their diploma as first circus artists with main subject “gymnastic wheel”.

Tom Neal and Thomas Reudet, both born in France, first attended the circus-school „École Nationale des Arts du Cirque / Rosny-sous-Bois“ (ENACR) near Paris for two years, where they majored in “wheel-gymnastics” at the end of the first year. ..

From the first moment, Monika Vaethbrueckner from Aschaffenburg/Germany, an ex-competitor and actually coach - accompanied and coached Thomas Reudet and Tom Neal.

Monika Vaethbrueckner gained experience in circus life at 'Circus Monti' from Switzerland in the season 1999, when she was engaged as wheel-artist and actress. So, she could pass down her experiences to her students.

The show will start in December in Châlons and then it will go on tour in France.

Israelian and German Wheel gymnasts in Paris

Invited by the mayor of Charenton /Periferic Paris wheel gymnasts from Israel and Germany advertised for their sport with a show in France.

After a sightseeing tour in Paris and training together with the French partners for the show with a duration of 90 minutes, a meeting with the sport comittee of Charenton took place and showed a great interest in wheelgymnastics...

...not only sightseeing in Paris.

Marriage of World-Champion Janin Oer

On the 21st of June, the German triple-world-champion Janin Oer married her boyfriend Michael Vollmert. The marriage took place in Janins hometown Fallersleben, where the world champion started to do wheel-gymnastics. For her club VfB Fallersleben, she won a lot of titlels in wheel-gymnastics.

Artist Nicci Wilks from Australia came back to Germany

18 months after the first 10 weeks training in Germany in autumn 2001, Nicci Wilks from Australia did again the long trek to do another training course in wheel-gymnastics.
She spent two weeks in Aschaffenburg, to refresh and intensify her skills in gymnastic-wheels.
Besides the intensive lessons under the special direction of the cMonika Väthbrückner in Aschaffenburg, Nicci Wilks could share in the training of the gym-wheel group of the club TuS Aschaffenburg-Leider, to stabilise the new exercises.

Wheel Gymnastics: German Junior Championships, 1st Day

Kira Schneggenburger (TSV Taunusstein-Bleidenstadt) and Simon Knapp (SV Rugenbergen) won the German Juniors Championsships, all-around.
Kira Schneggenburger repeated her success from one year ago and won against Friederike Schindler (TSV Marburg-Ockershausen), four times World-Juniors Champion, and won again the title, like one year agon. After his big success at the Juniors World-Championships 2003, Simon Knapp (SV Rugenbergen) now stood in front, when the national champions were searched.

Japanese Yoshikawa won Dernbach-Cup 2003

One week after the World Championships in Lillehammer/ N orway 300 German wheel gymnasts met in Dernbach / GER to compete on 7th and 8th June in all classes.
Also two gymnasts from Japan, who participated in Norway, took part in this competition.
Yasuaki Yoshikawa, who inspired the spectators with his routine in straight-line with music, won the competition senior class.

Balance of the 5th Wheel Gymnastics World ChampsWM

With alltogether 36 Medals Germany was the most successful nation of the 5th World Championships of Wheel Gymnastics, again.
To the first time the USA won a complete medals set, specially in the juniors categories.
The other medals were won by Japan, host Norway and Israel.

Specially the Women vault final at the final day of the 5th World Championships of wheel gymnastics was exciting. Naomi Kunihiro (JPN) is the new World Champion. Julia Pohling (GER) is placed 2nd and Janin Oer (GER) is placed 3rd. Janin Oer ( GER) won gold in straight-line and spiral final.
In the Men Finals Julius Petri (GER) is the new World Champion in straight-line and spiral. Jan Schaefer (GER) won gold in the vault final....

Today title-holder Julia Pohling (GER) /26.25 P.) again was the winner of the Senior`s women All Around Competition. Janin Oer / D (26.0 P.). is placed third. Lin Veronica Samuelsen (24.55 P.) won the bronze medal for Norway.

German also won the gold medal in the men’s All Around Competition. Julius Petri / GER ( 27.2 P.) is placed first. Jan Schäfer /GER (25.05 P.) won the silver medal and Florian Krause / GER (24.55 P.) is placed third.....

Germany wins Gold at Team Competition
As in the All Around Competitions Germany (62.65 P.) yesterday at night won the goldmedal at the World Team Competition in Lillehammer. The teams from Norway ( 2nd place, 57.3 P.) and from Japan (3rd place, 56.2 P.) shows, that they will attack today in the Disciplin Finals. All participants and also the responsible from IRV are glad about the conditions for the World Championship, they found in Lillehammer / N.
The WC 2003 in Lillehammer are moderate by Tove Paule, who is working as a TV Moderator in international events of all kinds of gymnastics and iceskating since years. She also did the moderation in iceskating in the Olympic Games 1994 in Lillehammer.

Junior’s All Around open WC 2003 in Lillehammer – Germany wins Gold Today the 5th World Championsships in wheel gymnastics started with the Junior‘s All Around Competition and the official opening gala at night.
World Champion in the Junior‘s girl Competition is Friederike Schindler (GER) with a score of 26,15 points, followed by Laura Stullich (GER/25,2) and Kira Schneggenburger24,75 points, both also from Germany.
In the Junior boys Competition the German Simon Knapp won Gold with 26,9 . Jermaine Dotson ( 25.9 P.) from the USA is placed on second and Christoph Clausen / D is placed on third.
