7th Wheel Gymnastics WCh: Team and Junior Gold Medals for Germany - GYMfamily Event -

The 7th World Championships in wheel gymnastics were continued today with the  all-round competitions of the junior gymnasts.

In the male juniors' class, Robert Maaser (Germany) dominated the field scoring 26.75 points, beating Ido Leviatov from Israel (22.65 points).
Achim Pitz from Belgium came third, scoring 22.00 points.

Victoria Henninghausen (GER) scored 24.65 points to become the female juniors' world champion, with her team mates Maren Opfermann (24.15 points) and Mareike Jochem (23.95 points) coming second and third.

As well as in the all-round competitions of the juniors and seniors that have taken place sofar, Germany also secured the gold medal in the team event, scoring 64.05 points. The teams from Japan (2nd place, 60.15 points) and the Netherlands (3rd, 57.95 points) however made it quite clear that they mean to put up a fight for the medals in the apparatus finals of the juniors and seniors.

The 7th World Championships in wheel gymnastics were continued today with the  all-round competitions of the junior gymnasts.

WC 2007 in Salzburg – Germany wins two gold medals - GYMfamily Event -

After the official Opening Gala yesterday the competitions of the 7th World Championsships in Wheel-Gymnastics in Salzburg started today with the Seniors‘s All Around Competition.

Today title-holder Janin Oer (Germany/25.45 points) again was the winner of the Senior’s women All Around Competition. Kathrin Schad (GER/25.20 Pt) is placed second. She surprised especially with a double summersault in vault. Takako Hiwa (24.30 P.) won the bronze medal for Japan like two years before.

German also won the gold medal in the men’s All Around Competition. Achus Emeis (GER/27.25 P.) , also title-holder from 2005 is placed first.

Welcome to Salzburg - Gala opens 7. Wheel Gymnastics WCh - GYMfamily Event -

In the morning, all leaders of the delegations and some guests of the 7th Wheel Gymnastics WCh were invited to a reception which took place in the Marble Hall of 'Mirabell Palace' in Salzburg. In the evening the World Championships were opened with a big gala event:

About 100 participants took part in the 90 minute show. The gymnasts of the  "Turn Gym Union Salzburg" showed a convincing combination of Austrian tradition and whell gymnastics in addition to showdance and sports aerobics. As guest performers, the Wheel Gymnastics Show Team of the TSV Taunusstein/Germany contributed to the success of the gala, which had about 1000 spectators.

Wheel Gymnastics combined with Austrian Tradition...

In the course of the day the last members of the 10 delegations participating in the 7th World Championships in Wheel Gymnastics arrived in Salzburg/Austria. In the gymnasium on Alpenstrasse, training sessions began under very good conditions and the floor as well as the wheels were tested. The judges were prepared for the competitions in a seminar.

7th General Assembly of the IRV – New IRV statute - GYMfamily Event -

As part of the 7th World Championships in wheelgymnastics the 7th General Assembly of the IRV took place on 15th May 2007 in Salzburg /Austria.

12 delegates from the member countries Austria, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway and Switzerland came to Salzburg for the meeting.
Without changes the board of the IRV was confirmed. A new statute of IRV was decided.
In the end of the General Assembly the starting order of the All Around Competitions was drawn. Tomorrow, 16th May, the World Championships in Salzburg will start with the official opening gala in the evening. On Thursday, 17th May, the competitions will start with the Senior‘s All Around Competition.

Next week, from May 16th to 19th, the 7th World Championships in Wheel Gymnastics will take place in Salzburg. The International Federation of Wheel Gymnastics (IRV) expects exciting competitions with highly motivated participants. After the dominant German gymnasts had to concede places on the rostrum to contestants from Japan and Switzerland, the competitions in Mozart's home town will show how the nations stand at present...

The first guests have arrived in Mozart's home town...
96 competitors from 10 nations have qualified for the Wheel Gymnastics World Championships 2007 in Salzburg and were registered by their federations. The first participants have already arrived in Salzburg.

About 250 accreditations have been issued sofar. The WCh hotel is already fully booked. In neighbouring Bavaria, there is great interest in the 2007 WCh.

The organisers,
- the Austrian Wheel Gymnastics Association (ÖRHÖV) is preparing for this event with great personal and professional input, so that these championships are sure to be a milestone in international Wheel Gymnastics.

Sunny weather radiated over the mountains and formed the perfect frameworks for the session of the INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION of WHEEL GYMNASTICS (IRV) in Salzburg, Austria last weekend.

The members of the presidency and the technical committee could convince themselves locally of the outstanding preparations for the world championships in the coming year.

The sportsmen and also the spectators expect an excellent event in the Mozart city....

Wheel Gymnastics: Germany won World Team Cup again GYM family Event 2006

At the "3rd World-Team-Cup of Wheel Gymnastics 2006" the German team gets the gold medal once again.

Despite of the high level of the gymnasts from Japan and Switzerland, Germany managed to get the highest scores even with the new introduced regulation of vault.
Positive commands all-around for the new regulations of vault.
Competitors and members of the jury agreed, it is practicable and purposeful within the competition.....
Thanks to the perfect local organisation, the audience enjoyed an extraordinary, suspenseful and amusing contest...
