World Games 2029 with Rhythmic Gymnastics again!

WG-info-: Rhythmic gymnastics is returning to the World Games after being absent from the 2025 edition. The apparatus finals in the individual rhythmic gymnastics competition will once again feature on the programme at the next edition of the prestigious quadrennial Games, which will take place in Karlsruhe (GER) from 19 to 29 July 2029. The southern German city of Karlsruhe is the first city since the founding of ‘The World Games’ to host the event for a second time ...:

Rhythmic gymnastics, which was a mainstay of the World Games from 2001 until as recently as 2022 in Birmingham, USA, was not included in the 2025 World Games in Chengdu (CHN). However, the enormous surge in popularity of this sport in Germany, fuelled by the resounding success of the current world champion and Olympic gold medallist Darja VARFOLOMEEV (GER), contributed to its reinstatement in the sports programme following a request from the German host city, Karlsruhe!
A World Games title is one of the few that Varfolomeev has not yet won. As a quadrennial event for sports and individual disciplines that are not currently part of the Olympic Games, the World Games offer athletes a unique opportunity to experience an event similar to the Olympics. Rhythmic gymnastics is one of the few sports featured at both the World Games and the Olympic Games, although to date only the all-around event is an Olympic discipline, whilst the apparatus finals are reserved for the World Games.
* The programme for the 13th World Games 2029, officially announced this week, comprises 36 sports, including five gymnastics disciplines. Alongside rhythmic gymnastics, competitions in acrobatics, aerobics, trampoline & tumbling and parkour will also thrill spectators during the Games
